It was developed to improve upon the classic Owari Satsuma, offering slightly larger fruit, an earlier harvest window, and exceptional cold hardiness for northern citrus growers. The Brown Select Satsuma produces medium to large mandarins with a slightly higher acid to sugar balance and higher Brix (sugar) content than standard Satsumas. The
